With our AC Peak Cycling program, Consumers Energy will install a small device on the outside of your home near your central air conditioning unit. When a cycling event is happening, your AC unit's fan will run for short periods keeping your home comfortable. Your cooling system will return to normal when the cycling event ends.
With Peak Time Rewards, earn bill credits on up to 14 Energy Savings Event Days per summer by shifting energy use away from 2 – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. This can be as simple as running your dishwasher in the morning or doing laundry at night. The more you shift, the more you earn.
It’s easy! You will be notified by text, phone or email the day before an Energy Savings Event Day occurs.
Receive a 33% discounted rate for energy used from midnight to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight on weekdays, and all day on weekends and holidays, from June through September.
In exchange, we ask you to reduce your use from 2 – 6 p.m. on Energy Savings Event Days which can occur up to 14 times per summer. If you are unable to reduce your energy use, a charge of $0.95 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) will be applied to your bill.
